Deborah Rine was born in San Francisco, California and grew up in Illinois, New York, and Washington D.C. She attended high school in Paris, France and Gothenburg, Sweden. After graduating from Northwestern University, she married a Frenchman and lived in Milan, Italy; Verona, Italy; Brussels, Belgium and Paris, France. Deborah taught French for 25 years. Upon retirement, she took a creative writing class and wrote her first book, THE LAKE, which takes place in Banner Bluff, an imaginary village, on Lake Michigan. Subsequently, she wrote two more Banner Bluff books and two contemporary women’s novels. Ms. Rine vacationed several winters on 30A and moved to Freeport, Florida in 2020. She has written seven 30A novels which combine a face-paced mystery with descriptions of the towns, restaurants, and shops along the Emerald Coast.
